Are the in-laws in the garage?

That would be a great place for them! Hidden amongst the junk…..

I kept my stuff in the attic. And neatly in place, too.

I just keep mine in containers… I’d love to hide some family members in an attic.

Finally a good one. LOL

I don’t keep stuff. What’s the point of stuff?

I have had crab legs in the refrigerator sine Tuesday. Today, as God is my witness, I shall put them in the trash. The cats are acting funny.

If you’ve had a box full of stuff somewhere in your home for over 6 months and you’ve never opened it, then you never needed what’s in that box EVER!!!!!!!!

I still have an old Ziggy cartoon (used to love that) “It’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it” enlarged over my workbench.

Tanya - So, do you buy new Christmas decorations every year? I do hate to spend money to buy something that I need, because I got rid of one just like that a while back. However, I do think it is important to have organization, so that we can find the object when there is a need for it.

If you always park your car(s) in the driveway, the neighbors ALREADY know that your garage is full of junk. My neighbor left her garage open once and it was filled to the rafters with stuff! Every square inch of it!

I park in the garage, and its not full of junk, … just say no (to clutter)

Wow. And I thought that only cluttermaniacs would have any interest in reading Cathy. Perhaps the neatniks read Cathy because they own nothing else to read - or because it’s fun to wallow in self-congratulation over Not Being Like Cathy every day.

Either way, I’m educated by the virtuous comments!

The garage is full of Irvings phones and TV’s. Cathy doesn’t want to get rid of anything. Irving buys things that are obsolete a week after he buys them. Have they ever heard of the Bargain News? Cathy could use that money back to buy more shoes. It’s her money isn’t it?

Everybody has junk stashed somewhere. Perpetually neat, organized people have a mental disorder. They are hard people to like after a while. They tend to be bitter, and highly passive aggressive. They criticize and judge everybody else they know behind their backs, until it all comes out one day over something small. Those friends and family members want nothing to do with them when they see how these obsessive neatniks really disliked them for so long over things that really make no difference to anyone else. They also tend to drive their children away. The obsessive neatness in a sign of several mental issues. It isn’t curable. The person with the problem believes they are perfect, while everyone else, especially the ones who see the problem are flawed. That’s from my training as a profiler. Cathy and Irving are normal. Exaggerated, but normal. I like them. Cathy more than Irving, but not his parents.

The in-laws are in the trunk.

It’s so good to be over 50 and not worry about what the neighbors think anymore – that was my 50th birthday gift to myself – renewed at 60.

I am a caucasian woman with a shaved head, multiple tattoos, curvy and pale. I love myself for me, and it took me a long time to come to terms with that given our current society’s love of all things tanned (fake or not) and skinny.

NOTE: I shaved my head in April in support of my cousin who’s going through cancer treatments. Although, unless I put some sort of sign on myself to that effect, people avoid me like the plague…

Great for these last 2 comments – tho you probably won’t see this. You 2 “got it” much earlier in life than I did. Enjoy!

And yes, Tanya, I know several women who have shaved their heads in support of those on chemo. It’s a wonderful idea and supportive gesture. I had breast cancer several years ago, but didn’t go thru chemo – not enough benefit to outweigh the risks. I still meet with several women who did go thru chemo and it is NO picnic.

lindz.coop: This is the second time I’ve shaved my head in support of someone who has cancer. The first was for my father… unfortunately he passed away 6 years ago from lung cancer, but his original diagnosis was stage 4 inoperable… He went through chemo hoping it would give him a few months extra, ended up killing him sooner because the treatments kept messing with his heart condition… It was an awful time…

I’m hoping that my cousin has better chances as she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. They got the whole tumour out surgically with only one lymph node that was tested with cancerous cells in it, hence the chemo. We’re hoping the treatments kill off any other cancerous cells left. We’ll know more at the end of July. (fingers crossed)

I’m very sorry about your father – I lost mine to pancreatic cancer 17 years ago. He was diagnosed 5 weeks before he died – so he was spared chemo.

I too hope your cousin does better – it sounds like the spread was fairly confined, so her prognosis should be pretty good I would think. Prayers for her!!
