REAL HISTORY: LBJ marched us off to Nam, very soon after his BIG LIE of 1964 about “not sending American boys to fight a war that Asian boys should be fighting.” Nixon got elected, because of “Johnson’s WAR” and was stuck with it.
Nixon got elected on the promise to get out of Vietnam, then he escalated it. Too embarrassing to leave without victory.
