Demi’s only like innovation if they can tax and regulate it.

Uber is going to force old school taxi service to update its business model, and that’s a good thing.

It is interesting that Uber drivers in NYC are licensed by the taxi and limousine commission.

I guess I’m an old-fashioned fossil, but the few times I’ve taken a cab it’s always been reassuring to see the license of the driver on display so I know he or she is bonded and regulated by SOMETHING. As for the ‘union’ part – Unionism had a hand in building this country and delivering a living wage to the common ‘man’ so, of course Republicans hate unions -Unfettered Capitalism means being able to jerk the workers around to suit the bosses. Without unions, the workweek would still be 10-12 hours long for Six days a week at barely starvation wages. I’ve just described heaven for Republicans!

So you support those that create a business, then make rules to make it hard for others to follow them? Or to find a better way to do it?

The obvious next step is for Yellow Cab to introduce their own “App” and do away with the only real advantage Uber has, being able to call for a ride by reaching into your Pocket..

What are the insurance implications if an Uber driver has an accident that hurts the passenger?

Actually clowns, this is the experience of millions of people or else Uber wouldn’t be so popular. Wake up!

Uber is great. Taxis are unbelievably bad these days. You can’t get them when you want, and the service is often terrible. I’ve taken Uber in cities and suburbs all over the U.S. and Europe. So, while n=1 in this case, I suspect most Uber customers are happy as it has grown exceptionally quickly.
