    Just in case you folks are curious who is going to benefit most from all this;

“With oil spilling into the Gulf, blood is running in the streets… BP’s stock is trading for less than seven times trailing earnings, with a current yield of 8%. If history is any guide, the spill will cost BP hundreds of millions, which it will be able to pay. The spill is also likely to lead to new rules and regulations that’ll restrict competition even more than the existing ones. That’ll provide giants like Chevron, BP, and ExxonMobil with a bigger competitive advantage over smaller companies than they already have”.

Anybody want to guess where the big money is going………

    Bush-cheneyPetroleum!!

Anyone who thinks ANY oil company (well except one run by “W”) is going to LOSE money on this, the greatest environmental disaster in U.S. history, is nuts.

Hurricanes don’t have regulations, oil companies, from Watt on, either re-write them, or ignore them. Jindal didn’t complain about the 35% royalty paid to Louisiana, and even James Carvelle needs to understand that, like on the California coast, sometimes just shoving sand in the water only makes things worse, for somebody else.

But, “conservative” wisdom is that everything, including taxes, will be the responsibility of “somebody else”!

Coming from you, Howgoz, it means very little.

Anandy has little humor and no common sense. He/she makes one or two snarky statements that rarely advance the conversation.

As I said before, coming from you, it means very little. You stated church was more on the mark than SuperGriz. My comment was an implication that Church was off the mark in his previous comment.

[Insert snide remark about “Conservatives” and Fox “News” here.]

Have watched and been familiar with the actions of this industry since the fifth grade. (A friend’s dad OWNED and oil company- or license to print money.) Later reviewed regulations and lease documents. It isn’t “left or right”, but outright greed, leading to deregulation, or letting industry “regulate” itself. Cheney also wanted the nuclear industry to monitor itself– think about BP running a nuclear plant. Oh, wait we saw that at Three Mile island and Chernoble (same thought process-just different “company”)

Ask Karla Fay Tucker if Bush did it. (and the others in Texas victims to Bush’s record for most executions as a Governor).Where are all those WMDs in Iraq? Who DID spend eight years re-writing environmental laws and controls on many industries, including the oil industry. Who DID refuse to raise taxes to save the economy, a move even his DAD knew had to happen. Who failed to stop Al Qaeda for eight full years, only killing more troops in a country that posed no real threat to the U.S.? Oh, right, they threatened to kill is da da.

Church, andy and others are aware of the secret documents showing that Cheney never was associated with Halliburton, or other “no bid” contracts at DOD.

Get over it! WE all have along way to go to recover from all the factual events that say BUSH DID IT! (and if you can’t even spell Cheney- you might learn more about your “heros”.

Sorry, I’m just tired of all those who’s memories only go back to January 20, 2009 and blame all woes on those who came in after that date with the dust pans and body bags to clean up the mess.

Howgoz, you said Church is more on the mark than someone else. I though his previous comment, which was about Anandy, was off the mark. Thus, I commented on his comment being off the mark. You can’t even blah blah blah.

    Church:

    1) Trout blames Bush just as oh so many “conservatives” kept blaming Clinton during the Bush years and who are blaming and bad mouthing Obama currently. I’ve seen “conservatives” look nearly rabid when talking about Clinton and it isn’t much more civil when it comes to Obama.

    2) I’m didn’t voice approval for Trout’s comments. I merely pointed out differences in the posting style. Whether or not he spends a lot of time blaming Bush, his posts are still more than just one or two snarky sentences making a quick insult. I don’t read Steve Kelly, so I wouldn’t have known about the offending comment.

Wasn’t it Bush who wanted to clean up Katrina with a massive army of illegals. Thats being discussed right now I’d bet.
