Ted Rall for July 12, 2015
Transcript:
A federal judge has awarded $229,500 to a Texas woman who got 153 robocalls from time Warner cable. (The calls were for someone else.) (Man 1: Maybe we could hire some... humans?) (Man 2: People have stupid ideas! Like yours! You're fired!) If you're unemployed or just broke, this could be your path to fiscal solvency! (Man 1: The one thing you can count on is that corporations are over-automated and make many errors... mistakes you can now montelize! First, sign up for every product, service and card you an think of. Second, give them lots of phone numbers, emails, and other contact information. Last, cancel the service, at least one of these idiots will call you- log 'em all! They're worth $1500 each!) This will revolutionize dinnertime. (Woman: Another $1500 call!! Waiter- bring the '99 lafie, posthaste!

I don’t know what Rall is aiming at for this one, though. Time Warner had more than enough notification and opportunities to fix their errors; that’s why they had the judgement against them. Does Rall think that they should just be excused all of it?
I nominate we sign him up, let’s see how long that attitude lasts…….

I suspect Ted is being sincere at this being a way to punish corporations and there is an element of “This is what we have come to”.
