Something I didn’t know about birds I learned from a close friend who is a birder. Most of the time, a bird will “make a deposit” just shortly after take off. He says that some birds will “poop” as part of a fright response, and others do it as a normal part of preparation for flight; i.e., to “lighten the load”…
