One thing about Ramirez, he always employs such a broad brush, it could paint a house with one swipe.

You watch though, if fast-track trade trade passes and then goes south ( the way NAFTA did, ) you’ll see the righties suddenly deciding that Obama WAS the driving factor after all.

I, for one, trust Obama on this one.

Hahahahahaha. Is it because he has been so honest or because he is infallible?

There is a reason I do not trust serial liars and it is not cynicism.

There should be a large train called trade and world economics bearing down on US workers. With or without the TPP, it has been coming and is going to still be coming.“So who can read the text of the TPP?”“But there’s an exception: if you’re part of one of 28 U.S. government-appointed trade advisory committees providing advice to the U.S. negotiators. The committees with the most access to what’s going on in the negotiations are 16 “Industry Trade Advisory Committees,” whose members include AT&T, General Electric, Apple, Dow Chemical, Nike, Walmart and the American Petroleum Institute.”https://firstlook.org/theintercept/2015/05/12/cant-read-tpp-heres-huge-corporations-can/US worker should also have representatives as consultants.

Obama has never, ever shown he has the best interest of the country at heart. He works for unions or donors or socialist causes but not the USA. He is a serial liar that would look you straight in the eye and flat out lie. He did it before, he will do it again.

I am surprised that the countries he is negotiating with would believe a word from his mouth … except where it would weaken or harm America. That is believable.

He “says” he is doing a lot of stuff for a lot of reasons, then it turns out, after a couple of executive orders and special deals for supporters he “did not clearly explain” or “you misunderstood his goals”.

You can trust him if you like … and sometime in the not to distance future you will be shocked, shocked I say, to find out that “the landscape has changed and a few executive orders are required to correct certain problems in the trade agreement”. Or some other lame ass excuse will be made to do some “social justice”.

    Good luck with that.

after a couple of executive orders and special deals for supporters he “did not clearly explain” or “you misunderstood his goals”. No details? At least point to some facts or your post is opinion that has nothing backing it up.

Like most bills brought up in the last 20 years or so, there are flaws, and with fast track, the corporate world saw more profit than flaws, and the potential to pull even more control away from the people.

The U.S. does need viable trade programs, but the “fast track” position puts far more potholes in the way of labor than pavement. (and opens things up for even less review of actions of FUTURE POTUS types.

We COULD use the line item veto, which just puts bad stuff back to be reviewed and potentially improved if feasible, not the same thing as unreviewed “treaties”…
