Could someone point me to the issue to which this refers?

The TSA ran an audit where they had people carrying fake guns and bombs try to pass through airport security. 95 percent of the made it without being detected. A truly dismal result. It really seems to indicate the security is worthless.

So I think that means we are all standing in long TSA lines for nothing. If they really are that inept then it’s a lot of hassle for no real benefit – Unless they are going to claim the placebo effect.

How could there possibly be a problem with the TSA’s team of crack screeners? Don’t they all earn minimum wage? They’re at the top of their field, right?

The audit and high failure rate of TSA searching elderly and children and avoiding the PC sin of “profiling” should send the auditors to verify the success rate of Israeli screening of passengers. Then lobby for a new policy of who to focus on in the lines of passengers for flights in the USA.

@Wolf – All Snarkiness aside – It isn’t a difficult job and doesn’t require a lot of skill. Even still, they aren’t making minimum wage. Those are government jobs and the program was rolled out intentionally to give out jobs to chronically underemployed groups within our society. Those guys and gals are making considerably more then burger flippers.

An ex head of Mossad summed up the real situation a LONG TIME AGO: if they get into the terminal, you’re AREADY TOO LATE!! The TSA screening process has always been a silly failure due to that very issue.. a joke in fact. While some profiling is done, and that’s key, it relies on factors the average citizen wouldn’t have a clue about, or what they’re looking for. Hmm, bad guys, aren’t your average citizen…

TSA is NOT part of Dept of Transportation. It is part of DHS. It was removed from DOT when DHS was formed.

Don’t blame my agency for TSA issues.

@PainterArt – I do realize that the TSA was started under George W. Bush and his Republican Senators and Congressmen. It was done in a state a fear and it was a stupid law.

I’m not a political hack. When I see stupid Republican stuff, I call it stupid.

You will find plenty of political hacks who only see evil from a specific party – I’m not one of them.
