One thing that went away after the reboot was when Marigold decided to be Phoebe’s best friend because she wanted to, rather than out of an obligation. I’m thinking maybe that might be the outcome of this.

The spell probably wears off after a certain amount of time. The question is will it take minutes, hours or days. Hopefully not years.
