After many years of wondering, I finally figure Aunt Fritzi has varicose veins or unflattering cankles. Of course, years ago “Playboy” once had a parody of the Nancy cartoon that explained the reason. I’ll say no more.
begs the question of why Sluggo’s still hanging around then, yes?
Fritzi walks around sans shirt or pants when home. Nancy is fine with this, but Fritzi does not want to have Sluggo show wood, so the curtain hide!!!
I think it was quicker to draw Nancy ‘s aunt in this fashion… it was a matter of economy with Bushmiller IMO.
