Katy: What's up? Adam: I'm taking a post-ice cream nap. Katy: How can you take a nap? That ice cream has me all keyed up. I couldn't sleep now if I had to. Adam: Things get different when you're older. Katy: Well, I'm gonna go run in circles for 30 minutes or so. Adam: Have fun. Don't barf.

Friend of mine with whom I lived at the time invited to dinner a couple we knew and their two small kids. The kids’ dinner featured grape juice as their beverage. After dinner, while we were talking around the dinner table, the young son, who couldn’t have been much more than three, amused himself by running in circles around the living room. As I watched, he suddenly stopped, ralphed all over the off-white carpet — and then resumed running around the living room as if nothing happened. Mom and host calmly rose from the table, continuing their conversation, and tended to the vomitus and resulting stain … as if nothing happened.
