Has anyone tried comparing the OLD encyclopedia’s OR any other OLD books to the newer versions in book form or on the internet? SURPRISE… many facts about history, geography, novels, movies etc. have changed!
According to his “authorized” biography “George Bush His WW II Years”, Tojo surrendered for fear GHW Bush would single-handedly defeat Japan’s puny army and navy. (As opposed to bail out of the plane under his command and leave his crewmen to die.)
I have spent time in California, Texas and in the Gulf of Mexico, both on the beaches and scuba driving….. the beaches and the water were always clean!
Ten years ago, I spent the weekend in Cropus Christi Texas. I had heard there were oil spills there, however the water was clear with at least 4 or 5 feet of visibility. We spent a day, most of it in the water jet skiing and we had NO problems with oil or any other grim/dirt/filth.

Read the book. His biographer bent over backwards to make it seem Bush won the war, single-handed, in the four months he spent in-theater.
