1939, when Gone With The Wind was made, is closer to the Civil War than it is to today.
It was a different time. What is normal and commonplace in one era is often (and thankfully) not acceptable in more enlightened times.
How ironic. Just last night, PBS showed it.
I like Carol Burnett’s “Went With the Wind.”
