Seeing as how Dean Smith retired nearly twenty years ago, and there aren’t any UNC student-athletes who were in kindergarten yet when he did, I expect they could tell the NCAA to kiss their puckered backsides.
@Ravenswing Coach Smith cared deeply about his former players. As for the NCAA, I agree. The one issue I have with those who advocate giving players a stipend is that it can’t be limited to football and mens basketball. The college/university would have to do that for ALL athletes. Maybe the NCAA should be charged with that and not the individual institutions.
