Couldn’t be anyone else. But I do miss Walt somewhat. Walt served in the Navy in World War I which ended Nov. 11, 1918. I sure hope I’m still around to see how Walt celebrates the event. If you are reading this Guy, I would love to see if we could amass a list of sons and daughters of WWI vets that just a little note showing that there are those of us who still appreciate the risks Mom and Dad took to keep this land free. I don’t know why this desire has hit me. But, if you want to do something like that, count me in. My DAD earned a Bronze Star in 1945 Germany going out and carrying wounded from the battlefield (he was wounded in the action and finally got it 45 yrs later.) I am Don Bearden and my Dad was PFC Albert Bearden. I can get more information. His regiment was nicknamed “Regiment of the Century” because it was the 100th.. Sorry, I’m off-topic, but this near 73 year old gopt sednimental.

My dad was a WW I vet. The time he spent in the army was mostly chasing Pancho Villa by the Mexican border. .

My dad got one bronze star in Korea and one in Vietnam. Here’s to all who served their country faithfully and with honor. My sincere thanks to these true heroes.

My Great Grandfather was a World War I vet with the Canadian Army at Vimy Ridge. he had also served with the British Army during the Second South African War (better known as the Boer War). Funny thing is that he served in an artillery regiment during the Boer War…so naturally the Canadian Army made him an infantry man.
