    I vote for the Whack-A-Mole. Interactive displays are the best. .“The Awakening” is no longer at Haines Point.It was rather .. umm.. ‘humorous’ when the Park Service placed a concrete drinking fountain in the middle of the sculpture.

    Typical of Washingtonian thinking, [J. Carter] Brown; too big, too grandiose, too unnecessary, too expensive! And why ruin the Ellipse? —Okay, yes; it’s funny. Washington always makes me laugh when it isn’t making me cry….

    What you can’t see: all of the Bushes (including Shrub) are at the bottom of that pile, resting on their laurels, being smothered by the great intellectual weight above them.
