I thought it had been re-named “Apatasaurous” or something like that a few years back. (Had the wrong head or some other such mix-up when “first” discovered?)

Which, of course, helps explain his comment in Panel one.

It’s like the old hazel nut/pine nut dilemma: all pine nuts are hazel nuts, but not all hazel nuts are pine nuts. Or something like that….

Read “Bully for Brontosaurus,” by Stephen Jay Gould for answers to some of the above questions.

“pre-dinosaur trees as the basis for oil and coal has confused people long after things changed.”.Or algae for petroleum. No dinosaurs were harmed in the making of this petroleum.

When I was a kid, a favorite indoor pastime was building and painting plastic model kits. I mostly built cars, ships, airplanes, and even a guillotine! The models I built also included a Stegosaur as well as a Brontosaur. I wish I still had those old models; but unfortunately, they are long gone!.Now, of course, they call the Brontosaur an Apatosaurus! Why is beyond me; after all, what difference does it make? To me it will always be a Brontosaur! Nobody alive today was around when these creatures roamed the planet and might have made friends with one!.Ok, so maybe there are one or two who are old enough…
