Bush violated the act he was given by not coming back to Congress for final authorization before launching “shock and awe”. He probably would have gotten permission, but as with all his actions over 8 years, he, as the “unitary Executive” never felt any need to.
I’ve been against some of Obama’s use of that same bill with a “stretch”, but the simple fact is, he’s been fighting a force that “W” s adminstration, it wasn’t JUST “Bush”, created by kicking the leadership out of Iraq.
Bush failed for seven years to “get” bin Laden, the bad guy who launched the 9/11/01 attack, so don’t try to say it was his “intelligence” (by any definition) that led to Obama’s giving the authorization to go into Pakistan and kill him.
Bush took all his “selfies” in the mirror of his pickup, in Texas, while HIS wars droned on.
