I have a strange dog (pictured @ left). If I light a fire, she departs the room and hides in bed. I think in a previous life she was popped by a flying hot cinder.
As a child, we had a chihuahua (before they were shrunk to teacup size). Once we smelled something scorching and while trying to find the source, she got up with a disgusted expression and smoke rising from her body, moved back from the fire about a foot, and lay back down.
