Unless things have changed, the evils of the Nazi party are part of the required history curriculum in Germany. I had a German exchange student, a number of years ago, in a H.S. U.S. history course. She’d already had it.

Glorifying the Nazi regime is against the law in Germany. It is not covered by any freedom of speech or press guarantees.

Well into the mid ’30s, Hitler and Mussolini both were admired in the US for their no-nonsense approach to governing and their willingness to accomodate business interests. FDR was constantly urged by both Republicans and Democrats at the time to emulate the Fascists more closely.

The most successful fascist continues to be ignored by most people outside of Spain, Franco. Recently, there has been some motion to examine the Franco regime.

@harleyquinn: The Confederacy might not only be about slavery. But the current “implemenation” of the heritage month simply ignores the issue. History revisionism is a dangerous thing.

I don’t have a problem if you also look at positive aspects of the Confederacy. But at the same time you also have to look at the crimes commited in their name.

myming and motivemagus, if you are so touched by this dipiction of a cartoon supporting African American’s continueing to hold a grudge over Caucasian American’s, maybe you should enquire in the Bible where it says it is a good thing to forgive, and move on.

It is along the same lines as Native American’s getting to celebrate how they were slaughtered when forieghners came to take land and Northern Vietnamese were bullying Southern Vietnamese.
