Many have criticized spending on the ISS and manned space exploration in general, from right and left. I favor manned operations, in space, AND in combat situations, for the same basic reasons- hands on control when “it” hits the fan.

How many would have watched if Kirk said, going “where no robot has gone before?”

Sorry, no money left for space. Not in a nanny-state.

Unfortunately Redeemd, it’s perhaps going tword’s paying off a stimulus. When it should be going tword’s helping American citizens get out of poverty.

“When it should be going tword’s helping American citizens get out of poverty.”

So… you think neither tax cuts nor infrastructure projects provide funding to get people out of poverty, but money for space exploration does?

Commy, come on. You can do better than that :) .

Let’s see, con-job-servatives want a limited government, yet they want a multi-billion dollar a year space program. They want missles, but yet they would let children starve in the streets.

First of all, supporters and detractors of the space program are from all across the political spectrum. Secondly, children did not “starve in the street” before government housing, food stamps, social security, medicaire, medicaid, etc was created. Family, neighbors, churches and charities have always taken care of the down and out.

The difference is your family, neighbor, church and local charity usually knows whether you’re truly in need or whether you’re just a lazy deadbeat. The government could care less.

The “Lazy Deadbeats” That would be a good name for a rock and roll band. (Managed by Dave Berry)

Of course, an untenable reality without the NEA. Damned artists with their hands out all the time looking for freebies!

“Twords” could be their first Top Ten hit.
