Wouldn’t surprise me about religious leaders in Niger or Nigeria exhorting death on each other. I’ve come across evangelical pastors or other Christians exhorting death upon witch doctors, witches, Muslims, homosexuals; Imams exhorting death on pretty much the same target groups and Christians. On American TV I’ve seen tele-evangelists exhorting death on homosexuals. So what else is new about crazed extremists? That they also exist in Niger and Nigeria…?
“Christian” militias in NIgeria have, over time, also performed slaughters of Muslims. Netanyahu attacks a trapped population in Gaza. Of course, the U.S. has done nothing to harm a single innocent person on Afghanistan or Iraq that would enflame passions against us.
Why is it okay for the “good Christians” on these panels, and on the talk shows, to call for the deaths of ALL MUSLIMS to “defend” Christianity and Judaism?
The numbers simply state the obvious, the “bible” religions all hate each other, even within their own ranks they can’t agree, 30,000 Christian sects, about what 5 Muslim divisions, and three basic Jewish divisions. Count the wars, and war deaths related to these religions and their “defense” and you do have the basic human tragedy. Of course it’s also important to note that even “atheists” don’t agree with each other, and while they attack “religion” they have themselves become the targets of those defending “faith”.
Fighting “Communism” or Marxism was far more about killing atheists than their economic theories. It overlooked how many “Communists” are actually Orthodox Christians, Roman Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, Hindus and other religious affiliates.
“RADICAL” is the trigger point, regardless the base divisions. The DSM is where to look for assessment, not the Bible, Torah, or Quran.
Most of my life, I have been a very opinionated New Englandah. Having hit the big 60, moderation is moving in. I certainly do not deny that I have expressed comments which still show, perhaps, more emotion than they should. Yes, not all Muslims are terrorists. Yet something I read back in the late 1970’s has stayed with me. At an international conference of the major religions, in Belgium (I think) an Islamic Imam was bragging to an American Bishop that the United States would be a Muslim country in the next century. His people would migrate in great numbers, and eventually get into government and change everything. Much of what I read and hear during the last twenty years seems to re-enforce these suspicions. The past few months, I have tried to moderate, sometimes censure my own comments. A few times, I typed something out, then read it over a few times, then cancelled it. I do not wish to incite others to hate Islam. As you, dtroutma, and a few others have pointed out, extremists can sprout out of any religion. But I still would point out that most of Christianity’s sins occured centuries ago. Small-time sects and hustlers are still out there, and I think the Catholic Church is slowly trying to bring us more in harmony with the rest of today’s world.
In addition to religious differences, as I have posted before, the sins of the European-American colonial white man are now coming back to haunt us. Memories die hard. Prejudices hang on for centuries. Add greed into the mix, and as this century progresses, whitey will come under increasing siege. In the meantime, I can accept admonitions from MOST other posters without taking umbrage.

These Twitter hacks….Twitter is really weak on security (or corporate admins of these accounts are easily susceptible to social engineered hacks, including the US military command.)These organisations should know Twitter is weak on security and themselves ensure an extra layer of security. if they want to make use of it. Or stay off it altogether as I do.

Given the chance, I believe they would take down the whole world, and be thinking Allah has great reward awaiting for them.

This is obviously a nod at Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard:

….talking about people exhorting death upon others; have you read the exhortians to genocide by a few of our fellow posters on this forum?
Why haven’t you all condemned them?

Nah, just your bog-standard radicalised terrorist stereotype.

No. Please note that I am refering to religious zealots; extremists, as depicted in Ariail’s ’toon.
