What’s with the string between the controller and the console?

I got so sick of playing playstation type games with my ( circa 10 yr old) nephew that I basically stopped visiting. I was no good at it, and if I beat him (which happened rarely— but I did beat him sometimes) he got in a bad mood and acted like a 2 yr old. I am in my 50s. He would stack the deck and cheat because I didn’t know how to do anything. It was the beginning of the end. I sacrificed my future in many ways for those chlidren, but they didn’t appreciate it.
