I remember when Ripley’s had unusual or hard to believe facts, not stuff you could read in a current science journal or newspaper obituary – believe it or not!

Scrooge McDuck would like that cologne. What is the age limit for being President of Haiti if the U.S. is at least 35?

Back in the day, Mr. Ripley was pretty much the only person out there seeking out and compiling this stuff. We all have a lot more access to the world now and I suppose the older we get the harder it is to amaze us, also. And, they can’t all be over the top wowzers.

Does this mean that when someone has a bacterial infection they caught it walking in the rain?

Jean-Claude Duvalier was a henchmen stooge for the USA to run Haiti the way the USA wanted it. He was a grotesque butcher every bit as bad as his father “Papa-Doc.”-Kinda like Fulgencio Batista in Cuba before Castro. That dude was one helluva butcher, but the American tourists there never saw that.
