@ Ahab: The ACA didn’t provide any of the care. It provided PAYMENT for the care. You need to make sure you clarify that, because the ACA does not provide for doctors, treatment, or medicine. It provides dollars. If people choose to not get care because they don’t have the dollars, that is their decision. You tying the ACA to providing care is intellectually dishonest.@ Pea: The issue isn’t between two individuals about preaching. That’s freedom of speech. The issue is about the government forcibly requiring a group of nuns to provide something that directly violates their beliefs. That violates their freedom of religion. It’s not that they have to be users of it, it’s that the very fact that they are being coerced into providing it is violating their belief structure. As Jack indicated, the court decision on Hobby Lobby supports the concept that the federal government cannot violate the constitutional right of freedom of religion, even in a peripheral manner.

They object because saying “we object” doesn’t keep it from happening; it only means the government forces someone else to make it happen.

Because those who are their employees are permitted to leave at any time, the ultimate freedom. There is nothing forcing or coercing their members to stay. The LSOP’s are acting consistent with the preachings of the catholic church, afaik. Contrast this to the federal government, which has every living person under their thumb. You can’t just up and leave your country. That, to me, is coercion.

That’s what the lawsuit is about. The nuns believe that under the current system, having anyone pay for birth control, either themselves or their insurance provider, is against Catholic doctrine.

So… when all the cartoonists draw about a topic you dislike, they are unimaginative hacks, but when they draw something different, they are hiding from the current issue? Heads you win, tails they lose, right? Have you stopped beating your wife yet?

Right only the left can impose their will, their lack of morals, or their lack of any religious beliefs on the rest of us! The hypocrisy of the left would be extremely funny if only libatards didn’t take themselves so seriously or think that they are always correct.
