“What obscene statement? That someone breaking the law is guilty of breaking the law? Isn’t that self-evident?”
I thought the point of someone breaking the law was to arrest them and take them to court to prove their innocence. Apparently being killed by a cop is much more efficient than proving one’e guilt.
While the ‘toon sadly remains somewhat true, what remains is also from Barretta: "If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime." That indeed should apply to all. The rate that gets the point across is twofold, the number of blacks arrested for marijuana possession when whites aren’t, and the number of “white collars” who are NOT arrested for tax fraud, when “blue” are! In both cases, the discrimination is because of the laws, that punish one “offender”, yet are designed to proit the other.(Well,the 1% anyway.)
That is precisely what people do’t want to hear about.There are millions of us who are 1 paycheck keeping them intact, also who are 1 big tragic event from long-term poverty.
The biggest problem in America, well the U.S., is that folks LEAVE logic alone, and won’t touch it, whether appllied to alien migration, marijuana, street crime, or the issues around race relations, they know, and want to know, nothing about. Opinions aplenty, but nothing to back them up.
I’ve had a lot of friends and associates at work from “minority” folks in our culture, do I live in their skins? NO! Do I know what they’ve discovered and lived through, yes. Can I totally understand their mindset by mere discoverry? Not really. Can I try? Yes, and therin lies where so many do NOT!
Being a social liberal, with experience in law enforcement, war, poverty (yes, briefly), and economic conservative, with a pretty omnivirous level of experience as well as education, I’m a “minority” in the U.S. indeed, and I can see that in so much on the “news”, and in blogger posts, based on ignroance.

That is true. So many people are blind about just how much our economy depends on undocumented workers.
