That graveyard would be a thousand times larger if it included Blacks killed by other Blacks.Sad, but true. Maybe efforts should be aimed at stopping the real threat……
“I think there’s fear of intimidation, harassment being legitimized by the fact that there is a high rate of crime, especially among young black men,” Juan Williams said. “No. 1 cause of death, young black men 15 to 34 — murder. Who’s committing the murder? Not police. Other black men.”
Last year, PolitiFact found that 93 percent of murder victims were killed by someone who shares their race. This time, we want to check out Williams’ claim that homicide is the No. 1 cause of death for black men 15-34 years old……..We rate Williams’ claim True."
And just imagine how much bigger the graveyard would be if it included [insert scenario that mitigates the point of the cartoon here]. That’s not the point, and y’all are deflecting.
The sad part is that the 12 year old Rice boy WAS “armed”, he carried a pistol that looked EXACTLY like a real weapon, becuase, like most kids, he’d taken the orange tip off the “toy” air soft pistol. I question whether the rookie needed to fire as quickly as he did, but when a “gun” is pointed at you, you will react.
Which to parents: doesn’t matter if your kids are white, black, or green, NEVER, EVER, LET THEM HAVE A TOY GUN THAT LOOKS “REAL”!!!!! DO NOT BUY THEM!
My kids never had a “toy” gun. When old enough (12) I started teaching them on REAL guns, and they both grew very proficient, and both KNEW there was NO SUCH THING as either a toy, or UNLOADED firearm, of any type!
The cartoon makes some very good points, about police abuse and violence and about news media valuing ratings and money over telling the truth. My question, though, is, where are the rioters? Did Ferguson get burned and looted by osmosis?
