Regardless of what you think of the man and his policies, the cartoon is incorrect.

Mr. Obama is talking about what to do with the people already here, many of whom have been here all their lives. This has nothing to do with encouraging people currently in Mexico to move here.

And, as everyone here should know, it is up to Congress to do the heavy lifting on immigration reform. And Congress has done, and plans to do, nothing. Nothing. I’ll say it again. Nothing.

Everyone wants something done. Congress won’t do its job. Whether he has the authority or whether you like his plan, at least give Mr. Obama credit for wanting to get something done. Something.

For all of you Obama-haters, your best bet is (and has always been) to encourage your “representatives” in Congress to do their job. They are being paid very well by both taxpayers and lobbyists. They truly do have the best health care system in the world (which is why they have no clue as to what the rest of us go through) and they have all kinds of perks, privilege, and power.

It’s time to make them earn it by facing the tough problems and making the tough decisions. If Congress acts, Obama will not and cannot act alone.

I will not say that there is no reason for anger and frustration: there is plenty. I will state for the record that much of it is misplaced and misdirected.

Barry hasn’t done crap for over 6 years on immigration. The Republican Congress comes in office in a month and a half, yet Barry says “This is urgent and must be done right this second”.Seems like King Barry did not want to hear from the People’s Representatives.

The USA already has immigration laws and processes in place to grant legal citizenship. We only need to secure the borders. Honest and worthy immigrants utilize the existing laws of the USA and are accepted legally WITH OPEN ARMS. Otherwise, they are law-breakers and do not respect our country’s laws and should be deported.

It continues to astonish that all the so-called “conservatives”/Fox ‘news’ viewers are perfectly happy to allow businesses of all sizes to hire illegals. -Many, if not most, actually believe that there were no illegals in the US before Obama was elected.

Andy Borowitz said it well, the Republicans will be making it so bad here, that will be folks trying to get back to Mexico, Honduras, Guatamala, and El Salvador! And that will include the American middle class trying to beat them across!

“OK, you’ve just proved yourself too stupid to have a conversation with.”-^ The above is your basic Fox “news” viewer’s idea of enriching debate.

If any border-crossing Mexicans heard President Obama’s very articulate speech Thursday night, then they would be disappointed. It involved only people who have lived here five years or more.

On a side note: It is still refreshing to hear a president who obeys the law, doesn’t slaughter hundreds of thousands, doesn’t drive us into huge debt for pointless wars, doesn’t tank the economy, and can speak in full paragraphs.

After eight years of G.W. Bush, I cannot get over the joy of having an intelligent president.
