Americans celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall after 25 years, but the U.S. Cuba embargo and travel ban has stood for over fifty years.
the truth is, the only people interested in the embargo to continue is the Cuban leadership. Without the embargo they’ll have nothing to scare with the poor Cubans. The embargo rethoric still is the daily diet of indoctrination, even though the embargo ceased to be effective like 30 years ago, when Cuba opened its doors to Spain, Canada and a whole other countries. Let the embargo stay and within three to four years the Cubans themselves will demand the B.S to stop. The internet is doing more for their freedom than anything else. The USA does not have an embargo on North Korea, however, the N. Korean government impedes help, information and normal relation with anyone. Its all these communist idiots who want the embargo, but if the USA lifts it they win.
Embargo shmargo. People wanting to travel to Cuba just arrange a layover in a different country before traveling to Cuba and again before returning to the US.
Which, it should serve as a reminder that Guantanamo remains U.S. territory (a coaling station originally) reserved on the island of Cuba to the U.S. when WE granted them independence.

The Cuba Embargo is only still going thanks to the “sunk cost” fallacy. “If we give in now, then everything we did before will have been for nothing!”
