And what about the many who took the pledge not for honor but for selfish gains; who served their time safely in an office while the few risked their lives.
My wife retired two years ago from the Minneapolis VA Hospital after serving as an RN. During the last 5 years of her “service”, she ran the eye clinic at the hospital..The stories she could tell; but won’t!.I am so glad to have her home with me…
Thanks B.C for the honor and mention. However, I feel it is and was more than ‘a few’. I had family members in 4 wars, staring with my father in WW I. May they all rest in peace!
I have been wondering whether calling them “your honor” is about impressing the citizen, or about reminding the official about how they are expected to behave!
