My parents restored a house built in the 1830’s. From time to time a bat would appear out of one of the house’s three fireplaces. It was a hoot watching my parents trying to chase it out with a broom.
We had one trapped in one of the fireplaces once! Not a serious problem until it got out and scattered ashes all over the room! Finally trapped it under a laundry basket; but, it wasn’t very happy about the situation…
