A man passes a poster mimicking the Uncle Sam "I Want You" posters from WWI. This time, Uncle Sam is wearing a hazmat suit and mask, and wants people for the Ebola war.
Ha ha. Let’s hope that a few years from now, looking back at the present situation, all the flippant cartoons and comments on these sites aren’t in hideous bad taste as we’re in the midst of a full-blown crisis .
The problem is when certain segments of a country’s population don’t have access to proper health care. It might be too expensive, too hard to access, too embarrassing to discuss, or carry a stigma according to the type of disease. So things don’t get treated, or are treated at home with inappropriate over the counter remedies..Meanwhile, the condition gets worse, and multiple people are exposed. You are certainly aware that increasing numbers of people are suspicious of vaccinations. And so, it seems, the old diseases previously thought under control and breaking forth again: TB, measles, whooping cough, diphtheria..Then, too, if diseases are treated thoughtlessly by bombarding them with the latest drugs, resistant strains inevitably develop. Wealthier people can afford the drugs, but then bootleg supplies filter through and saturate the population beyond the thoughtful planning and control of medical authorities. . And so there are population pools in which diseases can thrive and increase. It has been called Third-worldization. It can happen in the First Worlds, too..Cities in which the above untreated populations comprise large enough numbers are vulnerable. Interaction between privileged citizens and citizens under-privileged in regard to health care is unavoidable. Some diseases are relatively quick, like Ebola. But some are slow and insidious, like AIDS. .What infectious disease might be brewing right now in the human herd?.We’re all in this together. To microbes, millionaires and “bums” taste about alike..http://www.freepatentsonline.com/article/Issues-in-Science-Technology/17780976.html
Are you always so hostile to anyone that asked a simple question? I didn’t make any political comment, just asked for information. If you don’t know any specifics, just say so. Nobody is going to throw rocks if you don’t know.
