:) It’s going to be close but Ariail is tooting the horn too soon. Wait 2 more days.

I suppose it’s only news in the US now that it is a close race? Before the coming referendum it was barely noted…. Suddenly the implications of the Scots getting their independence touches many… (EU membership & trade, Cataluna, NATO, UN…)

I hope the Scottish politicos who started this have thought things through. Shifting the source of funding a new government away from the UK will put the burden on the Scottish citizens. What is that going to do to the individual tax burden, income, property, sales tax & ? Good Luck, guys…

The difference between Scotland and Ukraine is that England is not exerting military pressure to influence the decision. Well, not this time. It was a little different several centuries ago.

We had a referendum like this in Canada and the Quebecers decided which side their bread was buttered on and voted against separation. It would not surprise me if the Scots do the same. I was having dinner with a Scots friend a while ago and he was carving the roast with a lovely carving knife and fork with fancy matching stag handles. I said “Boy, that is a real bag pipers fork”. What do mean? Well you know all those Scotsmen in their kilts march around with a pig under their arm and the poke it in the arse with their fork and get that noise that they are famous for.
