To ensure a “No” in the referendum for independence, the British government have “Devo-Max”: Maximum devolution of powers without independence i.e broader autonomy which means Holyrood will wield power over most reserved matters, except defence and foreign affairs.Then the Welsh will want the same and the English, too. Oh yeah, the Northern Irish as well.
Northern Ireland is primarily Protestant, while Ireland is Catholic. I don’t think all that many citizens of Northern Ireland want to be rejoined. At least not unless they get guarantees of religious freedom.
