And some of us remember when cereal bags were actually made of waxed paper, that you could roll up and reseal. (I think this stopped happening around 1955…)

The folks who make cereal bags should be bagging nuclear waste!

Actually…. those bags have grown on me after I started doing the same thing as this fellow. If you cut the sealed portion with scissors and then use a clothes pin (as one commenter suggested), they really do work well, are durable, and tend to keep the cereal fresher. But trying to open the bag by hand is no longer something I try. Too likely to result in chaos (stuff everywhere) and cussing (me, profusely and loudly).

This is why our kitchen drawer now contains a handful of small/medium binder clips, various sizes snd colors. Perfect for closing those bags. At a Staples or Office Depot near you.

Then there are the bags that say ‘to open – tear here’. Yeah right. They never ‘tear’ in the right place and you still have to get out the scissors.

Sorry, I cannot remember ever having trouble opening the bag inside a box of cereal…
