I was in elementary school in the 50’s - I remember musical instruments were a couple of painted sticks (like dowels). Hollow logs can be used to make special effects! At least they still have a music program♩♪♫♬☺

They can go back to Do-Wop. Here in Boston we’ve got an acapella renaissance. Log on to www.WERS.org on Saturday or Sunday from 2pm-5pm you won’t be disappointed.

They could go professional. Play backup for hula dancers & fire jugglers.

Hollow logs and beating sticks are expensive and will probably be the next to go. Have the kids bring a couple of spoons from home and learn to play them.

Hollow logs? You had hollow logs? We just had those damned sticks! Had to whittle and paint them ourselves! In the snow! Uphill both ways!
