I keep trying to find this border amnesty claim in the Constitution. Wonder where it is?

Bob, please review the actions of Reagan and GHW. As to Constitutional violations, you don’t even WANT to start looking at “w” and Cheney’s actions, and that “shadow government” Cheney set up, among many other things.

True. But, many of us are fearful of the way our SCOTUS has ruled in recent years.

Joad, & Klondike: It’s all about the way some, with an agenda, decide to interpet the law.

I often wonder what most of the rest of this world thinks about what they read, and hear about what is going on in our Capitol. We think of ourselves as the world leaders, that everyone should admire our way of life and love us.

We used to be the first to offer assistance to people who suffered a natural disaster. But when that great tsunami in the Indian ocean devastated many areas, GWB & Cheney did nothing, until about five days after the event when a foreign correspondent noted our absence.

Then, Wall Street greed first smashed our economy, then dragged down much of the rest of Europe’s economies with us.

Since the implosion of the communistic system and the economy in Russia, we felt free to lord ourselves around the globe, invading where we please, and leaving the areas (eventually) in chaos.

We have insulted nations who were friendly to us, and made more enemies.

No, Klondike, you are not ignorant. I think you know more than many other pundits who post in GC.

A pen, and a Congress that would rather regain power than see the rest of the country succeed..Use the pen. The Congress is worthless.

Jeff KIser: just a note. My son was a SEABEE and very proud of the “humanitarian projects” they were involved with under President Clinton. “W” came into office with Cheney and shut down ALL those operations!! After Hurricane Katrina, SEABEES were helping with rescue, cleanup, and some rebuild around Biloxi, including civilian as well as their own homes, and “W” in his wisdom, ordered them all taken off the projects and sent to Qatar to twiddle their thumbs and do NOTHING in support of his war activities in Iraq.

He later served in other areas I can’t discuss, but let’s just say America’s covert efforts around the world are unknown, undiscussed, and unrelated to anything the American public, and many in Congress, are aware of, or care about.

Yes, the humanitarian capabilities of our military forces are impressive and positive, the very things Obama is proud to use them for. Dropping bombs on children in Baghdad, outside Kabul, or giving bombs to folks to drop on Gaza, are not evidence of America “winning friends and influencing people”, quite the opposite in fact.
