Now that sounds familiar! Except the process repeats itself about every five minutes…

I get the 75 lb lean on me. And a happy tail wag when I find ‘just the right spot’. .. I stop, the lean comes in. Fortunately he is not the brightest of dogs and can be easily distracted.

Kirbey,I agree; my yellow labrador would use her muzzle to tell me she wanted me to keep touching her; I mostly touched her because I like the soft feel of her fur. That was how, one evening, I discovered a lump in the right side of her ruff; it wasn’t bothering her, and my giving it a gentle squeeze didn’t cause her to react either. But it was not a visible lump. Nothing serious; the vet removed it surgically, with no after effects.

There are no spots on a dog that you can’t miss. Everyone of their spots need patting, petting, rubbing, scratching until your arm is about to fall off. Then ya get the “nudge” about 5 minutes later, they have very short memories or we’re just suckers for big brown eyes and a cold nose!!

It’s the feel-good factor. Works for both giver and receiver.
