We live in a world where things happen right this minute. As a result, the ideas of “innocent until PROVEN guilty” and even “trust, but verify” have been subjugated into “jump to conclusions and hope the facts bear you out”.
I am glad that the posters on this site are not police officers or judges.
If I suspect a person has cancer, I may very well be right in my initial impression. But I am going to ensure that my diagnosis is correct before making the patient go down that hateful treatment road. Wouldn’t you prefer that, if you were the patient?
This is not to say that Mr. Putin is innocent; I believe he has much blood on his hands. But I would prefer to be sure before we decide on consequences. Evidently, that’s not important to some posters, and some cartoonists.
Ok America, what do you want? An American president who shoots his mouth off without knowing what the whole story is? Or one who makes sure he knows what the facts are and makes sound, reasoned decisions.
