As a 5 year soccer ref, I find this HILARIOUS. I have been “offered” a lot of things by parents, but never a nice cup of cocoa. Maybe we need more grandmas at the games!
from years of watching his grandkids play, my Dad got to know a lot of the referees and would playfully threaten to hook them with his cane while the kids were warming up before the game. there were more than a few who would share a pregame chuckle with him.

I’ve played in games were it started snowing. It may not be kosher, but siting on the sidelines with some hot cocoa at halftime can’t be beat when it’s snowing!

As long as hot chocolate taste’s great, I don’t care if it’s a brown crayon dipped in hot water!! (There IS a cartoon reference here – go FIND it!)
