   As an engineer I enjoy a well paying and (most of the time) fulfilling job. I had to beat my brains out in school – no partying! There are well paying, fulfilling jobs, but they require sacrifice and hard work to get into.

   Actually as a dad who has raised 4 children, the child’s request to be reasonable is not so bad. There were times when I WAS unreasonable. Communication opened up a lot when I was willing to admit when I was wrong.Now when they were openly disrespectful I would try to walk away and wait for their next request to be driven somewhere and then tell them no, due to their earlier rudeness

   Oh HOW I wish I could do that with some of the over the top parents I have to deal with as a ref

   Best costume ever – kid comes to our house with little boxes of cereal with knives thru them taped all over. I ask what he is. wait for it … “a cereal killer”

   Yep those adults have such short attention spans! Anyone who thinks toddlers have short attention spans have never raised any! They will play the same game or read the same book ad infinitum! My youngest is 18 – I miss the toddler years

    As a soccer ref, I can REALLY relate to that dream!Generally parents are OK, but it would be nice to be able to “pop off” at them now and then
