In 1979, as the Iranian students invaded the U.S. embassy, they put women and children in front of them, and the Marines who guarded the buildings did not shoot. This is SOP for Islamic aims.
Gaza is only 136 square miles, heavily occupied with residences, schools, hospitals, etc. For comparison, hide missiles in Manhattan NOT near residences, schools, or hospitals. The argument for “human shields” is actually pretty weak, as Israel telling folks to leave their homes to avoid being killed, by THEM, is easier said than done, when because of ISRAELI policies, there’s nowhere left for these entrapped populations to GO!
I highly respect Jon Stewart, a reform Jew, for taking his stand on what is an inhumane policy on the part of Likud and the group even further right in Israel than “Nutty-yahu”.
Quite by accident, I was involved in killing of children in Viet Nam. It was the most mentally and morally profound impact on me, and my experience with war. It haunts me 43 years later, all the time. THAT is why Israel deliberately targeting civilian areas, and homes, NO MATTER WHO LIVES THERE, is a WAR CRIME, and has NOTHING TO DO with their being “Jews”, and EVERYTHING to do with them being EXACTLY what they claim their trapped and contained “enemy” is.
Israel has bomb shelters, “iron dome”, and a sophisticated military and defense system for their civilians, Gaza, has nada. Yes, Hamas SUCKS, get over it! So does Likud and the “right wingers” in Israel, get over it!! The mullahs in Iran suck, get over it! Russian separatists, AND the Ukraine government both SUCK, get OVER IT!
Accept these horrors as largely OUR fault for NOT telling our “friends” to ALSO behave in a civilized manner.
WE backed the wrong side (the criminal types) in Viet Nam. We lost because the people hated them, worse than those in the north. Today, Viet Nam is one of our most significant trading partners. With over a million deaths on their side in the war, they’ve said, “Move on, get over it!”
