Dear Mr. Stantis, as I see the current crop of college students home for the summer from the Halls of HIgher Learning (I can tell that because they proudly display the name of their Alma Mater on their rear ends), where they are being trained to be the Best and Brightest that the Greatest Nation on Earth can produce, to in their turn marshall the planet out of its current dark place, I say as I see them in their ripped clothing (signs of obvious poverty due to all resources being funneled to Academia), bodies carefully suntanned (undoubtedly from the long hours in front of library lamps), sitting barefooted in restaurant dining rooms having casually slipped off their footwear, eating with their fingers, mouths open while chewing, legs sprawled anywhere they please, I think you are being far too kind with “Internet-addled oafs”, but it does my heart good to see someone else say it. It appears they are all majoring in Self-Expression, Narcissism, and Entitlement, to which I can only quote Robert Redford’s line to a hung-over Paul Newman from “The Sting”: “Luther told me you could teach me. I already know how to drink.”
