My cats are both “Mama’s boys”. When I go away on vacation the loud one, in particular, tends to walk all over the house “calling” for me. Then when I come back he runs to meet me, gets (and gives) some loving, and then goes, “oh, okay, you’re here now,” and goes back to whatever he was doing.
I left my cat with my folks when I was stationed in Turkey. When i got back he jumped right into my lap, and the purrs took up right where they had left off 18 months earlier.
