Boots at the Boar, a little class envy? Seems to me that those not paying anything are benefitting far more from the status quo. Don’t forget that the “rich” are simply applying tax law that government wrote to their taxes. What you would call a deduction when you use it you probably refer to as a loophole when someone else uses the same deduction. Research current tax law. If you can figure it out, you are smarter than most employees of the IRS. The law is so convoluted that they will not stand behind any advice you get from them.

Because I couldn’t afford a 40% rate, and rich people paying 10% would not be fair since they benefit more from the status quo.
