I stand corrected. I was thinking along the lines my Indian work colleagues were complaining of recently. The cartoon is from June 19th, 9 days after ISIS taking over Mosul, potentially disrupting oil supplies and causing a sharp slight rise in oil prices.
@ jack < sigh > I’m going to regret admiting… Self righteous I oft may be but you should try read your own posts. They are very difficult to understand.I read “keystone” and some bs about the mid-east. I shall, however, concede that the ’toon is indeed the global dependance on oil and how easily it is disrupted by conflicts in the Middle-East. Your comment about building the Keystone pipeline would be in keeping with the thought of Independence from oil supplies from that region of the world. The remaining portion of your comment after the 2nd sentence remains elusive to me.
That wasn’t so much an apology as a concession; a humiliation either way
Keystone = refined products going for export, period. Yep, big help for our needs, just like the pipeline and LNG terminals on the west coast to send Wyoming fracking produced natural gas to China. All hail the fossil fuels consortium!
Hate to burst your bubble Churchie, but the U.S. is now the largest producer of oil and gas in the world, more than Saudi Arabia or Russia, so why aren’t our prices down? We EXPORT products that keep prices up here at home. The only “job” that’s key to the energy industry is their snow job on the public.
