It would be interesting to meet your own children to see if they fail to meet your miniscule expectations.

It actually makes perfect sense. You just have to play by the rules of the game.

Seriously, how many times has a baseball (or football, or basketball, or…) team clinched a post-season berth not because they won their last game but because some other team lost one? It’s not uncommon.

If a batter in baseball FAILS two-thirds of his times at bat, he’s one of the best! Hmm. baseball, yawn. (Don’t tell my nieces, they’re fanatic baseball fans.)

I don’t get the dissing of one sport over another. That’s infantile, not the fact the one particular sport may or may not be infantile.Since humans have different talents, different sports came about to showcase their adeptness at their talents. Different sports require different skills, have different rules, have different viewerships, differing criteria. Does a greater number of goals/points the one sport can accumulate in a game mean it is superior? How so? Basketball often has high point scores either side while football/soccer does not, but both sports can have their fans on the edge of their seats as one side tries to out-smart, out-skill or out-manuveoure the other with or without scoring

I find golf boring and I could not find it in myself to be much interested in baseball (at an American friend’s insistance) despite enjoying cricket. I don’t really follow football/soccer except for international fixtures like a world-cup but I don’t think it is a sport beneath anyone to support; some folks love golf, I don’t, so what.Likewise I don’t understand the constant carping between american football vs. rugby, baseball vs. cricket etc.Seriously?

Did Ann Coulter just insult women again?

"Liberal moms like soccer because it’s a sport in which athletic talent finds so little expression that girls can play with boys. No serious sport is co-ed, even at the kindergarten level.”

Anyone with half a brain would get it is a matter of points. Not just a matter of winning and losing in FOOTBALL. Fx. if you don´t have to do your best in one match to keep going why use your A team, and instead use the B team to have them practice that way – and also not let the competition see any new strats.
