They better get comfortable in there because nobody likes a RINO.

From conservative pundit Kathleen Parker’s column:“Poor Zachary Werrell, Brat’s 23-year-old campaign manager, who was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t find time to return a call to House Speaker John Boehner and had to scramble to hire a communications staffer. In the meantime, Werrell uttered the saddest words in political history:

“We’re not going to be making any statements until we get professional PR help,” he said in an interview with Politico.

Brat, in other words, isn’t quite ready for the prime-time slot he’s expected to win in November. But he had something Cantor didn’t have – a ground game. Brat’s lack of political sophistication served him well. Instead of watching polls, he knocked on doors. As for Cantor, the polls showed him winning, so why bother to press flesh?

Here’s another reality check: It’s always about the ground game.

This is the real lesson of Cantor’s stunning defeat.

Sometimes a loser is just a loser."

And here’s another take on the situation: Virginia’s primaries are open to anyone. I believe a lot of Democrats voted against Mr. Cantor in the primary; enough to unseat him. This is why Mr. Brat wasn’t expecting to win, and why he didn’t invest in staffing. This way, instead of a conservative Democrat running against a conservative Republican, there is now a choice: a conservative Democrat against a very-much-more rightwing Republican. It will be interesting to see who wins in the fall.

Ms. Parker, as usual, was right: Mr. Cantor is a loser. But not in the way she thinks. He has been a loser for the entire time he’s been in the House, and as his power has grown, he has become more dismissive and more arrogant. The country will not miss him.

In addition to the ’toon’s “Dork Soup” theme, it’s the TEA party folks who are the REAL RINOs!
