I only remember the animated TV series with a real anthropomorphic panther that was colored pink.

Peter Sellers was hilarious in the “Pink Panther”movies. Too bad he died to soon in his life.

The Pink Panther Strikes Again had the great lines. That’s a priceless Steinway! Does your dog bite?

Early 1965 my wife and I were in the movies, watching the Pink Panther. laughing so hard, she thought she peed her pants.Come to find out her water broke 26 hours later our daughter was born…The second feature was Jack Lemon ’ Under the yum yum tree ’.

The original Pink Panther was the “MacGuffin” (plot device) in the first movie. It was a fabulous diamond that everyone was trying to find which had a small pink flaw in it that looked like a panther . The gem didn’t figure in the stories of any of the other “Pink Panther” movies. Putting that name in the titles of the later films was just the way the movie makers signaled to film goers that they were sequels to the original film.

The same thing happened with the “Thin Man” series of detective films. In the original Thin Man movie, the thin man in question was the victim of the murder that the characters were trying to solve NOT the detective Nick Charles who solved the mystery. Yet, there were several more movies with “The Thin Man” in their titles which dealt with the new adventures of Nick Charles but which had nothing to do with the original thin man.

Once I was talking with a child outside church. He said that he could remember some event that had happened a long, long time ago. I found out that it had happened about a year previously. That didn’t seem so long to me, but I figured that since he was only around five or six, it must have seemed like a long, long time to him.

My brother was very particular about describing his age. Once he decided he was too old to be a “little boy,” but not quite a “big boy,” he insisted on being classified as a “little big boy.”
