So, Harley, how long should we have stayed, do ya think? -How many American lives? Got any family you’re willing to send over there?-Oh, and how much are you willing to add to the deficit to pay for it?
Harley, once Saddam was gone, it was always a matter of when, not if Iraq would devolve into an ugly scene rife with extremists. I predicted this in 2003. Does that mean I should be President?
“Everyone with an ounce of brains saw this coming after Obama bugged out..”Some of us this saw this coming when but-but-but-Bush bugged in. Any troops we left there would be getting killed now. Go read up on your Ottoman history.
The die was cast for failure when Bremer fired ALL the military and police, on Rumsfeld/Cheney/Wolfowitz doctrine. Al Maliki is almost as big a loser as Chalabi would have been. If bush 41 had done the “right” thing, back in ‘91 and supported the Shia as he did the Kurds, they’d have gotten rid of Saddam for us, but instead, we double crossed them, so why should they want us now?
Thinking back to when we created Iraq after WW I, set Faisal in as king, then double crossed him. Our “support” has been consistent, even through our friend Saddam who was fighting Iran for us.

Yes, it’s been an optical illusion since 1991, we didn’t let idiots put us in that box back then, and it’s all been a screenwriters dream, right?
